Saying “No” to a Broken Tax Code
President Donald J. Trump stated, “We believe every-day Americans know better how to spend their own money than the federal bureaucracy, and we want to help them keep as much of that hard-earned money as we can.” Unfortunately, the current tax code hurts American job-creators, families, and businesses. Under President Trump’s tax plan, Americans will be treated fairly, keep more of their hard-earned money, and companies will be incentivized to bring jobs back to the United States.

President Trump in China
On Wednesday, President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump traveled to Beijing, People’s Republic of China, where they were welcomed by President Xi Jingping and Madame Peng Liyuan for tea, a tour of the Forbidden City, and a viewing of an opera performance in the evening. President Trump and President Xi discussed ways that the United States and China can continue to apply pressure on North Korea and strengthen the international resolve to de-nuclearize the regime entirely. Furthermore, President Trump stressed to President Xi that China’s unfair trade practices and America’s massive trade deficit with China is not sustainable and highlighted the Trump Administration’s determination to defend America’s economic interests.

Vice President, Second Lady Visit Sutherland Springs
Yesterday afternoon, Vice President Mike Pence and Second Lady Karen Pence departed Washington, D.C. on Air Force Two en route to San Antonio, Texas. Together, they visited victims injured in the tragic First Baptist Church shooting, followed by a briefing from local law enforcement officials. The Vice President and First Lady spent the evening meeting with families of victims and offering remarks at a prayer vigil which took place at a local high school.

“My fellow Americans, we live in challenging times. It seems like too often we hear of another tragedy, another senseless act of violence against the innocent. In these times I expect it’s easy for some to lose heart. But as the good people of Sutherland Springs taught the nation this week, faith is the antidote to fear and despair. Faith is now and always has been our source of strength and the summit of our national life,” the Vice President said.
