On Thursday, November 2 2023, the Greek Welfare Center of the Holy Archdiocese of Australia, as part of the Community Awareness Month “October 2023”, organized a dinner in Sydney in honor of its volunteers.
Archbishop Makarios of Australia attended the event and awarded some of the volunteers of the Organization, who for many years generously devoted their time to serve those in need, with much love and sacrificial spirit.
It is noteworthy that thousands of volunteers of the Hellenic Welfare Center have devoted themselves wholeheartedly to supporting the needs of the community since 1975. In recent years, their contribution has been particularly important, as they have offered significant support to those affected by the pandemic, not only to members of the Greek community but also to the wider Australian society.
Bishops Iakovos of Militoupolis, Christodoulos of Magnesia and Bartholomew of Charioupolis, the Consul General of Greece in Sydney, Ioannis Mallikourtis, many clergymen and representatives of other organizations of the Greek Diaspora also attended the dinner.
